The Icelandic Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert this weekend in most parts of Iceland. A storm is expected to start early Saturday morning (00.00) and subside throughout the day in different parts of the country. The Icelandic Met Office expects travelling conditions to be poor in most parts of the country and advises travellers to proceed with caution. The only area not which a yellow weather alert was not released for is South-West Iceland
Strong winds are expected near Faxaflói bay, starting at 00:00 and lasting to 20.00, while Breiðafjörður will experience gales from 01:00 to 15:00. Gale force winds and snow showers are expected in the Westfjords while a blizzard is expected in North West, North East, Central Highlands Eastern coastal areas and East Fjords of Iceland.
