President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson and First Lady Eliza Reid began an official visit to Estonia today, RÚV reports. Accompanying them on the trip is Lilja Alfreðsdóttir, Minister of Education and Culture as well as other government officials.
The delegation is participating in the celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. Guðni will meet with Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid tomorrow in Tallin and will also meet with the country’s Prime Minister and Speaker of Parliament during his visit.
The pair will visit the city of Tartu on Friday, where they will attend the Gaudeamus festival, the largest singing and dance festival for students in the Baltic States.
