Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir has congratulated Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern on her pregnancy over Twitter. RÚV reported first.
Ardern has received widespread attention in her country and abroad since announcing her pregnancy. Not all of the attention, however, has been positive, with some questioning Ardern’s ability to balance family and her responsibilities as the country’s leader. “I’m just pregnant, not incapacitated,” Ardern has said in response. “Like everyone else who has found themselves pregnant before, I’m just keeping on going.”

Katrín Jakobsdóttir tweeted that she could relate to the New Zealand PM’s situation, as she was pregnant in 2010-2011 while in the post of Minister of Education and Culture. “I highly recommend it,” she added.
