According to Variety, Icelandic actor, Sverrir Guðnason will be starring in “The Girl in the Spider’s Web,” a new instalment in the Millennium franchise by Swedish author Stieg Larsson.
The film will serve as a sequel to Sony’s previous adaption of Larsson’s novel, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” Sverrir will be replacing Daniel Craig’s role of investigative journalist Mikael Blomquist.
This will be Sverrir’s biggest role yet, following the film “Borg vs McEnroe” which starred him and Shia LaBeouf. “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” is written by Steven Knight and directed by Fede Alvarez.
“The Girl in the Spider’s Web” is the fourth instalment of the Millennium franchise. Although the previous three novels were written by Larsson, Spider’s Web was written by David Lagercrantz following Larsson’s death in 2004.
